SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 10/16/2026 at approximately 2122 hours, the Vermont State Police received a report of a motor vehicle crash on VT Route 58 near the intersection with Hunt Hill Rd in the Town of Brownington. Through investigation, it was determined that Vehicle #1 was traveling eastbound on VT route 58 before exiting the roadway, traveling down and embankment, and striking a tree. The operator of Vehicle #1, Thomas Campbel (68) of Charleston, Vermont, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation

 

The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Orleans Fire Department and Orleans Ambulance Services.
